Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based therapy that quickly resolves trauma.

Research shows that ART can significantly reduce PTSD symptoms in as little as one to five sessions with no adverse effects.

It’s possible to be free from flashbacks, nightmares, upsetting memories, and physical symptoms caused by your trauma.

What happens during an Accelerated Resolution Therapy session?

ART utilizes eye movements to activate the brain’s natural ability to heal from trauma.

During a session, you’ll follow a trained therapist’s hand back-and-forth with your eyes while thinking about your trauma. You’ll quickly feel less upset about what happened and will get to replace the image of your trauma with one that is less upsetting.

You’ll always have the knowledge of what happened, but the pain associated with it will be gone.

Clients are consistently amazed at how soon they begin to feel better!

What issues can ART help with?

ART has been shown to be effective at treating:

PTSD

Anxiety

Panic attacks

Depression

Phobias

OCD

Dyslexia

ADHD

Suicidality

and more!

Who can benefit from ART?

ART can help:

Veterans

Active servicemembers

First responders

Child abuse survivors

Domestic violence survivors

People with generalized anxiety

People who have a phobia

People who are actively suicidal

People struggling with addiction

and more!

ART works by combining a variety of helpful therapies with eye movements to change the way memories are stored in the brain.

Research suggests that eye movements help calm the nervous system and activate parts of the brain that naturally process trauma.

Some scientists believe that eye movements mimic rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which has been shown to help process stressful memories.

How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy work?

What are the criteria to participate in ART?

There are three criteria for a client to participate in ART. If you…

  • Can safely move your eyes back and forth

  • Have motivation to change

  • Can hold a thought

Then you can participate in ART!

Is Accelerated Resolution Therapy safe?

Yes! ART has been shown to be a safe and effective treatment for a variety of mental health disorders.

It’s normal to experience some distress during an ART session but clients almost always leave feeling better than when the session started.

ART is non-invasive and has safety measures in place to ensure client comfortability and safety during reprocessing.

Is Accelerated Resolution Therapy hypnotism?

ART is not hypnotism. The reason ART utilizes eye movements is not to hypnotize clients; rather, research shows that the eye movements help calm the brain and reprocess trauma. Clients are in complete control during the entire session.

The only similarity between hypnotism and ART is eye movements. The goal of ART is never to hypnotize a client.

How is ART different from EMDR?

EMDR is another therapy that uses eye movements. However, there are several meaningful differences between ART and EMDR. ART sessions are more directive than EMDR sessions. They also focus more on feelings/sensations than thoughts.
